She’s got a dark side – a very, very dark side that she hides from the people she’s sworn to herself to protect, yet she carries on funny and insightful conversations with her dead grandmother And only one glaring mistake did I spot, “flaming jerk”, which hasn’t been used here in at least 60 years, but there were certainly a lot of ‘mates’ thrown around too, but I’ll let that one pass as we do still use that one.
But Vayl never saw her in that way – because he’s just the same. No pets since the cat died last winter, but the birds seem to appreciate his absence.
I’m glad though that there was much more personal interaction between Vayl and Jaz however.
Big props to Rardin for her latest idea, I want one for myself. I liked that we got to see Raoul on a more personal level. Big Vamp on Campus. You can remove the unavailable item s raridn or we’ll automatically remove it at Checkout.

This book seemed to be a turning point in the series. I liked that the whole crew was together this time. She’s got a dark side – a very, very dark side that she hides from the people she’s sworn to herself to protect, yet she carries on funny and insightful conversations with her dead grandmother Then in the second half of the book a lot of time was spend dealing with Jaz’s demon possession problems.
Read more Read less. In true Jaz Parks style, Jennifer Rardin does not disappoint with the sixth installment in this action packed series. Blade on the Hunt. There were so many subplots that were much more interesting. Definitely another great installment in a fantastic Urban Fantasy series!
As always, Jennifer Rardin’s writing is both descriptive and funny and she can invoke both fear, anger and just pure sexiness. Flame in the Dark. Sins of the Flesh. Onto the next one. In between the comedy is the more seriousness of the plot about the gn I forgot how much I like Jaz Parks. Blade to the Keep.
And I can’t say enough about the wide and varied array of secondary and ancillary characters that have wormed their way into my heart.
Really good follow up to the marsk 5th book and as always I love Vayl and Jaz but I agree with another reviewer when she said – Enough already, Vayl loves you – learn to deal. The just seem like such a dysfunctional family, and I love how they all give each other so much crap!! Oct 18, Rachel C. Showing of 18 reviews.

Better the second time round. Picking up a book from a series is like having lunch with an old friend or wiggles eyebrows an old flame.
We learn what happens when Miles gets angry, how brave he can be and what sets him off. Let’s just say that their god is a little peeved with humanity and plans on the usual: I so much liked the cult of gnomes story. The plot was very disjointed and the emphasis was misplaced. There are too bitte things that go on as a result of occurrences in previous books, too many nods given to past moments. Raoul is becoming more and more of a favorite and it was great to get to see even more of him and his personality.
It was great to see all these threads coming from earlier in the series to add to the plot of this book and so much more to be added to the continuing plot thread that I can’t wait to see what happens.
I liked Bergman’s new smart cat robot invention which leads to some amusing scenes with it and Jack. Now they are supposed to be in a relationship but they continue to waver back and forth jenniferr commitment, constant flirting and sexual inuendos which don’t really add anything new to hennifer relationship or the plot and kisses that alternate between stopping Jaz cold and sending fireworks through her body.
I didn’t give a synopsis of the plot Bits Marks because the main plot of each book isn’t really why I read the series. She was a scream and I think even upstaged that wonder doggy Jack.
Hoping for an improvement with book 7. I love vampire novels with new ideas and a fresh flavor, and those can be hard to find these days since the genre has been done, redone and even overdone. Books Jennifer Rardin Bite Marks: Vayl and Jaz’s assignment is of the utmost importance.
